Egypt Triumphs Handball World Championship U19

The young Egyptians prove their mastery by claiming the U19 Handball Youth World Championship after overcoming Germany in the final with four points difference (32-28)

It’s the first time in the history of the Handball Youth Championship that an African country claims the title with such a powerful win against Germany. The Pharoahs maintained their lead from the start, as they created a 4 points difference and ended the first half with a 19-13 score

The 2019 championship is the eighth edition of the tournament, it was held from 6 to 18 August 2019 in Skopje, Macedonia

Egypt were placed in group B during the round of 32 alongside France, Sweden, Canada,  Chinese Taipei and Hungary, and among the big names, they topped the group with eight points, ending with just one defeat to the ex champions France.

Later then they defeated Slovenia 30-23, bet Iceland (35-31) and won against Portugal fair and square twice (41-36) in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, becoming the first non-European country to reach the final

Egypt now becomes the fifth team claiming the competition among the domination of four countries Denmark (3 times) France (2 times)Croatia, and Serbia and Montenegro (one each)
