The end of Game of Thrones is almost here. We’re literally hours away from the ending of an era, and regardless of how satisfied or disappointed you are with this season, you can’t deny that it’s been a hell of a ride. So, after David Benioff and Dan Weiss killed The Night King and Cersei -the biggest two villains in history of GoT- The Mad Queen took over. With one episode left, we can’t help but wonder what will happen in Westeros? Who will sit on the Iron Throne? Who will live and who will die?
We asked fans to predict what will happen in the finale, and here’s what we got:
1. Daenerys will die, but who will kill her?
The king in the north and the true heir to the iron throne is known for ditching his responsibilities when it comes to being a ruler, however, he’s mostly one hell of a fighter. In many incidents, Jon was seen fighting ferociously for his beliefs, and for the people. Fans believe that after the Hitler-like massacre that occurred in Kings Landing last episode, Jon will finally drop the Dany is my queen line and kill his aunt/love of his life. But, will he sir on the iron throne later or will he still stick to ditching his responsibilities?
The badass of Westeros comes to the rescue once again, but does she get to kill every bad guy out there? Those who believe in Arya Stark know that she’s the only person capable of getting rid of the Mad Queen and her untamed dragon. Also, prophecies predict that Arya who already shut brown and blue eyes is going to shut green eyes forever, and since Cersei is already under the rocks, Dany is the available option right now. This theory is also supported by the foreshadow of Arya on the white horse which represents death in one of the Bible verses.
Dany did warn Tyrion that the next time he fails her, it’s gonna be the last. And it’s only a matter of time until The Mad Queen finds out that Tyrion let Jamie escape the Unsullied. Tyrion, being one of the smartest in Westeros, sure does understand that and will act accordingly. Fans suspect that the ring Varys left before his execution contains the same poison that was used to kill Joffery, and that same exact poison will be used by Tyrion to kill Dany.
2. Daenerys attempts to kill Tyrion. Will she do it?
She does -and breaks my heart-
Tyrion’s death is one of the hardest things that can ever happen, I mean, that can be as hard as when Dobby died. Dany is already acting mad, she warned him, and he did let Jamie go. As soon as she finds out, the whole Unsullied army will be looking for Tyrion and soon enough she’ll Dracarys him. However, those who believe this theory go on explaining that both Jon and Sansa will avenge his death. Tyrion and Sansa do have chemistry and The Lady of Winterfell won’t let his death go just like that. If Varys’ letters reach Winterfell at the right time, Sansa and Brienne will definitely be there for the rescue.
She can’t, because Tyrion is actually a Targaryen….
Tyrion was always hated by his alleged father, Tywin, he even hinted more than once that Tyrion is ‘no son of his‘ and ‘he was just raised as his child‘. This theory has been circulating for a while now, that Tyrion is a love or rape child of Aerys and Lady Joanna Lannister. Tyrion even had a way with the dragons, they know that he is to be trusted because he’s half Targaryen. People predict that the reveal of this moment will be when Drogon fails to burn Tyrion.
3. Bran will make the White Walkers will rise again
The Night King turns anything evil by a touch; that’s how he turned Craster’s babies and Viserion. Well, he did touch Bran before. You do the math. Nobody knows what Bran is up to at any given situation, for instance, why did he warge into the Ravens? Supporters of this theory believe that he was leading the Night King right to him so they can finally have a moment, but Arya was there to break it! If this theory is true, then Bran can bring White Walkers again… But he doesn’t necessarily have to be evil, maybe Bran will be the one to get rid of The Mad Queen using his powers. There must be a reason for his existence in the show!!
4. Who sits on the throne? (Ranked according to votes)
- Jon Snow/Rhaegar Targaryen
- Tyrion Lannister
- Arya Stark
- Sansa Stark
- Gendry Baratheon
In a happy world, Tyrion might end up with Sansa, there have been hints that they can’t be together as he’s loyal to Daenarys. But with Dany out of the picture, they might actually be a thing. Arya will continue doing what she does best, fighting for what’s right, with Gendry by her side. Jon will finally be a leader. Anyways, we’re hours away from the moment of truth.
