Al Ahly strikes with five goals to zero against the Tanzanian side Simba in the home meeting in Borg Al Arab in the third contest in the competition.
The Red Devils were drawn in Group D against the Algerian outfit JS Saoura, the Congolese Vita Club and the Tanzanian side Simba, the Egyptian league holders entered the game with four points collected from a 1-1 draw against Saoura and a 2-0 victory against Vita Club.
Only three minutes were needed for the hosts to reach the back of the net as the Eagle of the match Hussien El Shahat curled the ball to Amr El Solaya to take the lead for the Reds. The lead extended through Ali Maaloul’s smart finish from Nasser Maher’s cross.
Ajayi then scored the third from Maaloul’s fine pass, Karim Nedved was lucky enough to claim his first brace since joining Al Ahly after converting El Shahat’s cross, later he finished a brilliant team work effort to make it five for the Reds.
Al Ahly now stands at the top the table with seven points ahead still awaiting remaining three games against the African contestants!
