Netflix Releases A Statement Urging People Not To Participate In The Bird Box Challenge

When Sandra Bullock’s new horror movie was first streamed on Netflix, the network was shocked when the numbers indicated that over 45 million viewers watched the movie just the first week of streaming. The movie follows Bullock a single mother on a quest to save herself and her two small children in a post-apocalyptic world. A world now took over by supernatural creatures that make whoever sees them commit suicide. So the only chance of surviving is blindfolding the eyes and trying to stay alive.

Now another kind of news has shocked Netflix, reports, and news have stated that a new meme challenge has spread all through social media, having individuals blindfolding themselves and performing normal daily tasks that might end up dangerous.

Upon receiving these new Netflix quickly gave a statement saying
“Can’t believe I have to say this, but: please do not hurt yourselves with this bird box challenge. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.”

However, even with the statement released by Netflix, people are still taking a role in this new challenge and posting it all over social media.
