Four New Buses Natural Gas-Fuelled Egyptian-Made Buses Hit Cairo’s Street

In a move to solve Cairo’s traffic issues, Egypt’s Public Transport Authority (PTA) announced that four new buses that are made in Egypt and run on natural gas will be experimentally operating, with a future plan that aims aiming operate around 130 buses in Cairo.

Head of PTA, Rizk Ali, said in a statement last Tuesday that price of the new bus ticket is 4 EGP, and the 130 buses are scheduled to start operation right after the success of the experimental operation. The buses are manufactured by an Egyptian company, Kastour, and they carry the logo “Proudly Made in Egypt.”

The buses will operate  buses operate on line 1033 and start from the Dawaran Shubra station to the First Settlement through Abboud, Sawah, Heliopolis, Nasr City and the Police Academy.
