Egypt scores 24 medals in 2nd African Speed Skating Championship

This year, Egypt has been chosen to organize the 2nd edition of the African Speed Skating championship 2018. The event has started on the 26th of October and will end on the 3rd of November in Ismaillia, Egypt. In the 1st edition of the championship 2017 in Togo, Egypt made it to the second place wining 16 medals.d995da31-99df-4c6e-b845-380b1280e29a

Last Tuesday, the opening of the championship took place with 14 participating teams. The countries competing this year are Egypt, Togo, Guinea, Tanzania, Kenya, Kongo, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Angola and Mozambique. The opening ceremony started with the entrance of the participating countries, followed by the Egyptian national anthem and some performances.

The Egyptian team has made great accomplishments till now, and has scored 24 medals; 5 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze in track races.
