Haven’t we all been high school students who were in a way lost in order to find a path of life? Haven’t we all stood there in our mid-late teens and asked ourselves what we want to become later after being done with school, and join this small version of the real world AKA University?
Well, iSpark Egypt, a career development services company that has been around since 2015 and classified as one of the best 10 startups in Egypt according to Injaz, has solved all of these questions to all high school students who are currently going through this phase we all lived in a way or another, by holding the annual Traverse Summit on the 12th and 13th of October 2018 at The Greek Campus, in Downtown Cairo.
But, what is actually Traverse Summit and what is its main goal?
Traverse, as said above, is an annual event that helps high school students to discover different opportunities beside education in order to develop and discover their skills, and also to make them have access to easier paths to achieve their goals, whatever they are.
The event consists in students listening and getting inspired by talks and success stories of public figures, and getting involved in different kinds of activities that satisfy their future career needs.
Traverse this year is providing students with a platform of 5 local and around 14 international universities as well as 25 student activities provided by NGOs, and over 60 companies. In addition to this, there will be young inspirational speakers such as Ahmed El Ghandour (El Da7ee7), Ahmed Dash, Nesma Mahgoub, Eslam Abu Ali, Doodle factory, Otlob and Wuzzuf and performances by young artists.
This is the third year for the event to take place. The first Traverse event took place in 2016 in The British University of Egypt, hosting over 600 students, while last year, it hosted over 1000 students at The Greek Campus in Downtown Cairo. This year Traverse has expanded and it will host over 1500 students, still at The Greek Campus.
The event was a huge success in the previous years, since it has become for many students a day that changed everything, whether it’s a change that concerns their characters or their perspectives while working on making their future dream careers become reality.
In the previous two years, Traverse hosted a good number of influential public figures with their inspiring success stories. These include Amina Khalil, Abdoul, Okhtein, Salma Abu Deif, Farida Othman, Ahmed Hayman, Abdel Rahman Roshdy, Alaa El Sheikh and Youssef Fawzy.
The event keeps expanding year by year, and this year the number of expected attendants did not only expand, but also the activities and it has become a two days summit instead of one. There are workshops, mentorships sessions, and a larger number of universities and student activities.
We’re very excited to see what the event has to offer this year on the 12th and 13th of October, we’re totally sure it will be such an exceptional experience!
