News agency Mena reported Alaa and Gamal Mubarak’s accusations of embezzling at least 494m Egyptian pounds after breaking the stock market’s rules and deciding to sell the National Bank of Egypt.
The case against the pair started in 2012, one year after their father’s segregation. All those who were accused in the case in 2012 were set free on bail and barred from travel.
The Cairo court ordered the arrest of Alaa and Gamal along-side three others accused in embezzling 2bn Egyptian pounds in total. The brothers; who deny the accusations will appear on court on the 20th of October.
Hosni Mubarak and his sons have spent quite long time in jail since he was segregated in the 2011 revolution, after judging Egypt for three decades, since 1981.
The trio was arrested for a series of alleged crimes, the most iconic was embezzling more than 125m from public money for maintaining presidential palaces and they have spent several spells in detention.
