Following its prosperous precedent flick, the awaited sequel of the Jurassic World saga has gone down in history already after its grosses have crossed the $1B mark in the international box office. Such jaw-dropping figures had this film become the third highest-grossing production in 2018, lagging behind Marvel’s Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, which will surely keep bolstering its monetary performance to live up to the $1.672 billion earned by the series’ opener in 2015.
On the contrary to the audience’s praises, movie reviewers had their say on this summery project with their not-so-welcoming critiques, landing Chris Pratt’s latest flick at 51% on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic.
On a similar note, it was also announced that the gripping cinematic universe of Jurassic World is to be extended with a third film, set to be released in the summer of 2021. The concluding part of this franchise will mark the return of the first film’s director Colin Trevorrow to the commanding role, and will re-feature Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard in the starring roles.
