Justin Trudeau confirms that cannabis will be legalized in October

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, confirmed that marijuana will be fully legalized by 17 October, which will lead to replace the crime market.

Trudeau affirmed to reporters on Wednesday that “Obviously the current approach – the current prohibition of marijuana – has not worked to protect our kids, to keep the money out of the pockets of organised crime and that’s why we’re bringing in a new legalised framework around marijuana”.

Although medical marijuana is legal in Canada, the country will be the second one in the world to fully legalize it after Uruguay.

Once cannabis will be legalized, people will be able to grow up to four plants at their home and carry up to 30 grams of cannabis for personal use. Those who will carry more than this amount or supply the substance to minors, will face very fierce consequences.
