This week marks a very sad and heartbreaking incident, this week marks the 2nd death anniversary of the young star Christina Grimmie, who was shockingly murdered on June 10th 2016. This, unfortunately, is a repeated incident that has been witnessed through many years, so let’s take a sad walk down this memory lane and list down some of the most shocking and heartbreaking deaths in the world of celebrities.
1. Christina Grimmie

Christina Grimmie was an American singer and a famous YouTuber who was later known worldwide for her participation in the NBC’s The Voice, a member of Adam Levine’s team, finishing in 3rd place. On June 10th 2016, tragedy stroke, as Christina was shot and killed in Orlando, Florida while signing autographs and taking pictures with her fans after her performance at a concert. Christina was shot three times by 27 years old Kevin James who after shooting Christina took his own life. Christina was 22 years old.

2. Selena Quintanilla

Selena was one of the most celebrated Mexican American artists in the world; alongside being a worldwide known singer Selena also had great achievements as a spokesperson, actress, model, and fashion designer. In March 1995 Selena was shot by Yolanda Saldívar, the manager of her boutiques and the president of her fan clubs. It was discovered by Selena and her family that Yolanda was embezzling money from both the boutique and the fan club, and when confronted by this Yolanda said that she will turn over all the money and bank documents. However, after delaying this Selena went and met Yolanda at her motel room where there Yolanda proceeded to pull out a gun and shoot Selena. Selena was declared later dead at the hospital, she was 23 years old.

3. Sharon Tate

Sharon Tate was an American actress and model, featured in numerous magazines and covers and appearing in several hit movies, she was hailed as one of Hollywood’s most promising newcomers. In August 1969 Sharon who was 8 and half months pregnant alongside four of her friends were attacked at her home and brutally murdered by the cult “The Manson Family”. It was reported that Sharon was stabbed 16 times, and was 2 weeks away from delivering her son.

4. Gianni Versace

The famous Italian fashion designer and the founder of the house of Versace, Gianni was an icon in the fashion world, having linked fashion to the music industry. He was a close friend of Elton John and Princess Diana. In July 1997 John was in front of his beach house in Miami when he was shot and killed by his stalker Andrew Cunanan, who eight days later shot himself using the same gun.

The co-founder of the most commercially successful band in the history of the music industry “The Beatles”. John Lennon till this day is referred to as a music icon that will never be forgotten. In December 1980 on the archway of The Dakota, he was shot by Mark David Chapman in the back. Lennon was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately was announced dead on arrival.

6. Marvin Gaye

Marvin Gaye was an American singer and producer, known as the Prince of Motown and the Prince of Soul, through his career Marvin had several of hits like “I Heard Through The Grapevine”, and did several duets with many hit artists like Diana Ross. In April 1984 Marvin was shot at his house by his father, fatally wounding him which resulted in his death. This happened after Gavin intervened between his parents who were fighting which resulted in a physical altercation between the father and son. Minutes later Marvin’s father shot him in his heart and shoulder.

7. The Notorious B.I.G.

Christopher Wallace or simply known worldwide as Biggie was an American rapper, considered by many as of the best rappers till this day. In March 1997 Wallace was murdered in a drive-by shooting by unknown assailants in L.A. His album “Life After Death” was released only two weeks after his death and quickly reached to number 1 on the U.S album charts.

8. Tupac

Tupac Shakur was a worldwide famous rapper and actor, selling over 75 million records worldwide, marking him as one of the most successful artists of all time. He was featured in Rolling Stone’s list of 100 greatest artists of all time. In September 1996 in Las Vegas Tupac was shot in a drive-by shooting, he was immediately rushed to the hospital but sadly a week later he succumbed to his injuries and died.
