Uber expands its delivery service ‘Uber eats’ to Cairo

The International transportation service Uber has announced its delivery service ‘Uber eats’ arrival to Egypt’s capital Cairo for citizens to order meals from several restaurants around the city

Uber eats is among UBER’s beneficial services that was founded by the American company in 2014, aiming to receive online food ordering and deliver it to your home step. The service has already partnered with over 80,000 restaurants in different 200 cities around the globe

The service has arrived Cairo dealing with around 100 restaurants for the time being and they promise that soon enough the application will be available in more districts around the City starting with AL Muhandsin, Al Qasr Al Ayni, Sabtiyyah and Al Duqqi

“We’re excited to be launching in Cairo today. People in the city can now use Uber Eats to choose from hundreds of dishes to get the food they want, when they want it, delivered at Uber speed – whether that’s at dinner at home, lunch at work or a snack when out with friends.”  said Rodrigo Arévalo, Regional General Manager, Uber Eats Europe, Middle East & Africa, Uber Eats.

“With this launch, Cairo joins the hundreds of other cities around the world who’ve embraced Uber Eats as a new way to get great food delivered fast. We’ve revolutionized the way people move, now we’re transforming the way people access food.” Arévalo added

The Uber eats app has also persisted on the fact that the mobile application will include variable languages including Arabic as main language in Cairo

“Just like on our rides business, we know the importance of building technology to meet the everyday needs of locals. Whether that’s by opening up the benefits of our technology to more people with things like cash, answering demand for quicker and more reliable food delivery or by investing in redesigning the app to offer customers the local experience they expect,” said Mr. Arévalo.

It’s not the first time to witness a food delivery service in Egypt as Otlob.com a food home-delivery portal was founded by Eng. Ayman Rashed has now reached its services to several countries around the World and the Middle East in specific.

Looks like Otlob has just received its threatening rival!
