Ryan Coogler’s Marvel blockbuster beats James Cameron‘s 1997 epic after surpassing $659 million. And the movie continues to smash box office records as more weeks pass by. After passing Frozen and Jurassic Park recently, the movie sits on the throne as the 3rd highest-grossing movie of all time.
After beloved movie Titanic enjoyed 12 years of its position as 3rd, it now moves to the 4th after Black Panther took its spot with estimated $661.6. Moreover, it’s now the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time after beating The Avengers‘ $624 haul. The movie also had the best opening week for any Marvel movie ever. It had the biggest February opening at the box office. Not to mention it tied James Cameron’s Avatar as having the longest run atop the box office at five weeks.
The movie continues its success but notably, its position seems in jeopardy. Upcoming movie The Avengers: Infinity War is likely to sweep up and claim a spot on the best movies of all time.
