Al-Ahly defeated Carthage in Women’s African Volleyball final

Al-Ahly Volleyball Women team defeated Carthage on Thursday March the 15th in the ‘Women’s African Volleyball‘ final at Abdulla Al Faysal Halls.


Carthage reached the Women’s African Volleyball final for the second consecutive time after defeating Kenya’s Prisons 3-1 on Tuesday. Al-Ahly, on the other hand made it to the finals after defeating Kenya’s Pipeline 3-1 on the same night.

“I am so happy with the players’ performance against Pipeline and their comeback in the game after losing the first set,”  said Al-Ahly manager Hamdy El-Safy when interviewed by Egypt today staff.



As for today’s match, the first set went dazzling with a result of 25-9 to Al-Ahly. Following up, the second set marked 29-27. The final and last third set ended up 25-8 to Al-Ahly which as a consequent marks a total winning of 3-0 to Al-Ahly volleyball team.



Following this result the devils of the Red Castle have earned their ninth African title and affirmed themselves as the best team in the tournament’s history.
