Top Six Moments of the 2018 Academy Awards

As expected it was a memorable night at the 2018 Academy Awards, from very emotional and touching speeches to breathtaking performances here are the top 6 moments of this years’ 2018 Academy Awards.
1. Frances McDormand
Frances McDormand gets a standing ovation after she wins Best Lead Actress for her role in “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”; this is Frances’s Second win and fifth nomination. After reviving her award asked the female nominees in every category to stand before adding: “Look around, ladies and gentlemen. We all have stories to tell and projects we need financed. Invite us into your office in a couple days — or you can come to ours, whichever suits you best — and we’ll tell you all about them.”

2. Gary Oldman
After a cinematic career that lasted over 3 decades, Gary Oldman wins his first Academy award. The actor won Best Actor in his leading role in “Darkest Hour”; second world war drama.

3. Jimmy Kimmel
“This year, when you hear your name called, don’t get up right away” Jimmy Kimmel returned once again to host this year’s awards show, and he wasted no time, roasting Emma Watson’s incident at the 2017 show, when her and cast members were mistakenly called on stage to receive the award for Best Picture.

4. Jordan Peele
Making history as the first African American to win the awards, Jordan Peele wins the award for Best Original Screenplay for the movie “Get Out”. The movie is also the first Horror movie that wins!

5. Keala Settle
The Greatest Showman star brought the entire audience to its feet, after a powerful and breathtaking performance. The star performed the song “This is Me” which was also nominated for the award of Best Original Song.

6. The Shape of Water
After 13 nominations, “The Shape of Water” goes home with the award for Best Picture, defeating some pretty strong competition such as “Get Out, Lady Bird and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri“. This was the drama’s fourth win in five years!
