Court Orders Detention of Reham Saeed in a Child Abduction Case

Controversial TV host, Reham Saeed, has been detained for four days for alleged incitement of child abduction.

According to reports, Egypt’s Public Prosecution ordered the detention of Saeed along with the program’s producers and editors for inciting the kidnapping of two children in preparation for an episode of her TV show.

Reham Saeed’s Sabaya El Kheer has been off air for a few weeks now.

Reports show that one of the producers -who pretended to be a regular customer- got in touch with a gang that kidnaps children and sells them later and both parties agreed on kidnapping two children for 300,000 EGP.

Police have been informed of the trade, its date and location, and raided the place during the exchange to free the children and arrest the kidnappers.

According to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Saeed now faces three charges that include broadcasting false news that could disturb social peace.

The TV host denied allegations saying that she’s been working on “aiding children” and would never participate in such a crime.

This is not the first time Reham Saeed got in trouble. Back in 2016, Saeed has been suspended for viewing private photos of a sexual harassment victim and stating that her inappropriate clothing is the main cause of the incident.
