The entire nation has been buzzing about the new hit TV series Sabe3 Gar. The series follows the lives of several families living in the same building, and each episode tackles the everyday struggles and problems that they go through from work and marriage to teenage problems. From its amazing cast to its relatable stories and scenarios that happens inside every Egyptian home, Sabe3 Gar without a doubt was able to sweep people off their feet.
So, we decided to sit down and talk to one of the most loved characters in the series, a very sweet, funny, and beautiful person in real life, the one and only Fadwa Abed.
So, Fadwa can you please tell us how you got your role as Doaa?
I was recommended by Heba Youssry one of the show directors and the writer. She encouraged me to audition, and eventually I did, and I got the role.
Did you get any kind of training or acting workshop?
No, never. I always wanted to be an actress but never took any workshops nor auditioned for any role. I have always been fascinated by movies and acting ever since I was a little girl and I always believed that one day I will have the opportunity to prove to myself that I can do it. And finally, it happened, and I am so thankful.
Were there any challenges that you came across or faced with this role?
To conquer my fears in general, for example, the fear of standing in front of dozens of people and start detaching from reality and from my own identity to become someone else. That was all new and definitely scary to me.
While growing up, was there any specific work/production that inspired you to pursue the acting career?
No, not one work specifically. I was inspired by plenty of local and foreign movies as I grew up.
Other than acting, what other career would you dream of doing?
Currently alongside my acting career, I work in a real estate development company. However, I dream of being a singer.
There have been some negative comments regarding the controversial scenes and topics in the series (for example Mai & Ahmed’s relationship), what’s your opinion about that?
The controversy that this show made is big. Everyone had an opinion and they shared it. I personally believe that both negative and positive comments in my opinion are a success in this kind of business.
Your favorite moment on set?
All that follows after you hear the word Action.
Any scoop you can give us on season 2?
Hahaha well, you’re going to have to wait till the 4th of February to see.
So, there you got it folks, some interesting and new insights about Fadwa, and we have no doubt in mind that she’s going to reach and go to high places. We can’t wait to see what she does next.
