If you don’t know what “The End Of The F***ing World” is, let me educate you on what you’re missing out on: The End Of The F***ing World, much like its name, is a TV show that took the world by storm with no proper warning beforehand. The dark comedy is based on comic book series by Charles Forsman, and then it was turned into a TV show on Channel 4 before it made its way internationally on Netflix.
But what’s so special about the TV show? Well, for starters, it scored a rating of 100% on rotten tomatoes. When’s the last time you’ve seen that rating? Heavens, I almost thought it to be impossible. The show talks about two very interesting loners: James, the 17 year old who thinks he’s a psychopath and has the blood of a series of innocent animals on his hand, and Alyssa (his schoolmate) who is a handful of things, but isn’t a psychopath. It was murder/love-from-first-sight. The two go on a little adventure together, but things get extremely out of hand.
Now, if you haven’t seen the TV show, wonderful; the world hasn’t ended for you yet. But if you have… You poor, poor soul. I know exactly how you’re feeling. What kind of unbearable ending is that? Brilliant, sure, but absolutely tormenting!
Which brings us to my main question: is there a second season?
Our beloved actor Alex Lawther has recently spoken about a possibility (which is better than nothing, so to speak). Now, why is it not a definite possibility? Simple. The series is based on a comic book series, which means the comics end where the show ends. However, Alex claimed that it would give Charlie Covell (the writer of the show) a chance to explore her imagination.
“I would be very excited about [that] because I think she’s brilliant. So we’ll see, basically.” He said.
I think we’re all excited about that. What do you think?
