Midterms? What midterms? We’ll be camping outside Zawya Movie Theatre making sure we are not missing any of the amazing movies on their schedule.
Zawya is a movie theatre launched by Misr International Films (MIF) in March 2014 as the first art-house cinema in Egypt, located in Downtown’s Cinema Odeon. It screens an alternative selection of films from different parts of the world, including short films, documentaries, feature films and experimental work mostly focusing on independent local films supporting young Egyptians and Arab filmmakers.
This month, however, is full of a must watch movies starting from 25th of October till late November.
On top of the schedule is the movie Withered Green which is currently displayed till November 7th
Moving on, tomorrow Zawya is screening the hit Arab short films that were so good they made it to the Oscars. Three hours of five of the best short movies starting from 7:30 till 10:30
From November 5th till November 7th Zawya will be hosting The Fourth Jesuit Film Festival Movies. The program consists of three days (5 short movies a day from 7:30 till 10 pm) followed by their discussions.
Then starting from November 8th till November 18th, 10th Panorama Of The European Film . This year’s program includes a selection of over 50 films and a diverse parallel program of workshops, masterclasses and talks with international film industry guests.
The Panorama of the European Film is an annual 11- day film program, founded by Misr International Films and organized by Zawya. It is dedicated to showing the latest award-winning European feature, documentary and short films
