Twitter has surprisingly out of the bloom extended its famous 140 characters to 280 characters long, which is double the count. But not all users can access this feature yet.
As per our knowledge, Twitter will only offer this feature as a test of the double length tweets to few selected accounts.
Furthermore, how will the Twitter universe react towards this new feature once it comes available to all? Is Twitter slowly turning into another version of Facebook through slowly losing its most distinctive features?
Turning the Favorite button into a Like button, and changing the interface to match that of Facebook were features that the public felt uncomfortable with, but I think that with the short length tweets going out of the picture will intrigue the users into slowly giving Twitter up.
