After resting 5 years in La liga, Real Madrid had successfully reached the 93 points needed to win the Spanish League for the 33rd time in their history.
The game against Malaga determined the title for the whites, the same team who had the biggest role in Barca’s elimination from La Liga title in Matchday 31 with a 2-0 victory against the Catalans which was somehow considered as Barcelona’s loss for La Liga.
With 29 wins, 6 draws and 3 losses in La Liga , Zidane’s role with the team was so influential, he had gained the respect needed for the game from all the world! He brought out the best of every player in the field, even Karim Benzema who faced a lot of criticism from the fans. In a total of 28 appearances in La Liga, Benzema managed to score 11 goals and created a total of 37 chances for the team.
Although Cristiano was out of the golden boot competition with 25 goals to Messi (37). “ElDon” has now reached 400+ goals with the club, and has been proving throughout these years his dedication to his club and country and with the fierce competition between him and Messi, he’s never gave up and kept fighting for the Spotlight.
“I have said that it’s my best day as a professional because winning the League is the top. As a coach, it changes everything.” said Zidane in the post match conference where Marcelo and some of the players interrupted to celebrate with their coach. Zidane also added “We deserved to be champions. It is not easy. It is the most difficult league in the world.”
As soon as the players and staff arrived at Madrid, Los Blancos celebrated with their fans the La Liga win at the statue of the Goddess Cybele in Plaza de Cibeles. Congratulations to all the Real Madrid fans around their world!
