Road to Cardiff

For the third time in a row, A Spanish team completing the path to the Champions league final. Real Madrid current winners holding 11 UCL trophies will soon be flying to Wales to face The Old Lady Juventus on the 3rd of June both fighting for another glory this season, both willing to prove who the Champions of Europe are.

Juventus with a spectacular performance against Barcelona in the quarterfinals, and after 2 magical nights in two different stadiums against Monaco, they are now fully qualified to face the Merengues for a fight over their long waiting treble. The Bianconeri took their revenge from The Catalans for stealing their UCL trophy in Berlin 2015 by a 3-0 win aggregately after Dybala netting a brace and Chiellini ending the night with a glancing header in Turin. Unfortunately, Neymar’s 99% faith was not enough to move the whole team for another qualification and the game ended with a nil-nil draw at the Camp Nou and Neymar’s tears on Dani Alves’ shoulders. Speaking of which, Barcelona’s huge loss, one of the best right backs in Football history Daniel Alves gave a stunning performance in the UCL this season especially against Monaco by striking the 4th goal for Juve from outside the box to end Monaco’s dreams for a comeback. He’s completed the most key passes in the tournament (27) and made 5 assists in his 10 UCL appearances with the club.

“I’m really pleased with the team. They deserve congratulations as they played a great match” said Allegri after the win against Barcelona which made them much closer to the final. Allgeri’s job with the team is almost done, they are now headed to the final with zero loses at home since August 2015.

On the other side of the field is Real Madrid, Reyes de Europa and winning the Champions league is what they do best. After an unexpected performance against Bayern Munchen at the Allianz Arena in a 2-1 win after Cristiano Ronaldo upturning Vidal’s header at the 25th minute and reversing the roles to give the Madridistas the lead with his double, First was a smart move from Carvajal to Ronaldo into the box right infront of the area and a nice touch from Cristiano into the goal, The second went the same way from Asensio launching a curler from the right to Cristiano in the 6 yard box who makes the shot to the second goal at the 77th minute. The same perfect performance happened in the second leg where Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 6th hattrick in the UCL and achieved his 100th European goal. The record was still on against Atletico Madrid in the first leg where he scored his 7th hattrick ending the game with a 3-0 win and scored 103 Champions League goals, which is more than Atletico Madrid Champions league goals in their entire history (100).

On the second leg, Atletico put on some effort on the field to make a Remuntada by scoring at the first 15 minutes of the game 2 goals, one came from a nice header by Saul right into the target so powerful for Navas to save. The other came by Griezmann from the penalty spot, but the comeback spirit didn’t last very long as Benzema came from the left keeping the ball in and successfully making it pass through three defenders feeding it to Kroos who makes the shot but Oblak brilliantly saves bouncing it back to Isco whose in the right place to book a ticket for the Real to Cardiff! And for the fourth time consequently Real Madrid eliminates their home rival Atletico and kill their dreams for lifting a UCL trophy.

“At no moment did we have any fear of throwing it away. We are Real Madrid and we always fight until the end, always with respect to our rivals” Marcelo speaking to sport after the game, and after showing marvellous performance in the whole tournament, he thinks they are fully ready to lift another title.

With Real Madrid’s #APorLaDuoDecima and Juventus’ #ItsTime both teams will definitely show some class football on the Cardiff field, Juventus will be playing their 9th final and Real Madrid the 15th the most Champions league final appearances in history, both teams are looking forward to achieve an unforgettable  night for their fans.
