Deen Squad used hip-hop to empower hijabis and it’s super smart!

Deen Squad, the Muslim-Canadian hip-hop duo that have been mixing hip-hop to Islam teachings for two years now. In celebration of Women’s International Day, Deen Squad released an epic song empowering and uplifting hijabi women all over the world.  Over 23 million person have seen and loved Cover Girl in its first day.

In a strong message showing that hijab is not an obstacle, they show you women hijabi women from all over the world dancing, doing sports and skateboarding. And to make us even more proud, our beloved Egyptian hijabi Sara Sabry was on the video!

So, here’s to those who think that hijab is a synonym to oppression and to the islamophobics everywhere, you’re wrong. Those girls are rockin’ that hijab and this song is here to prove it!
